YouTube Launches in 9 Other Countries

YouTube has officially announced the roll out of several international sites for the video-sharing service.

Just as everyone suspected, the new sites that are taking YouTube to a very global level were announced today. The nine countries that now get their very own version of YouTube include Brazil, France, Ireland, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and the UK. Each site is appropriately translated and boasts localized home pages, content and searching tools. These features will grow to be more useful and relevant as country-specific ratings and comments increase over time.

The Chinese version of YouTube has already been announced. Others taking on a global marketing strategy include Trivop, Xing , VivaPets and Flickr.

Below, the launch video for YouTube UK.
